To bid him farewell, a meeting of about 100 bohemians was called on June 29, 1878, in the lush redwoods near Taylorville, present-day Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Bohemian Grove exists since 1893

Throughout its history, the location of the Bohemian Grove has shifted to the beautiful landscapes of Marin and Sonoma Counties. Initially, meetings were held at various locations, including the majestic Muir Woods and a redwood grove near Duncan Mills along the Russian River.
