TOT TRAGEDY Haunting images show aftermath of tragic crash that killed four-month-old baby & injured three with driver, 54, arrested

On 12 February, a Vauxhall Vivaro van traveling north collided head-on with a Toyota Auris.

The fatal crash happened at around 4.55pm on the A1620 ring road between Calverley and Rodley.

As a result, a four-month-old baby was left fighting for his life.

After this he was taken to the hospital where he sadly died on Wednesday.

Two women from the Toyota and a man from the Vivaro were also taken to hospital for treatment.

The collision created a huge ball of fire in the middle of the road.

Highway crews had to completely close the area while emergency services brought the collision under control.

The 54-year-old man driving the Vivaro was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was released on bail yesterday pending investigation.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

West Yorkshire Police said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has footage that would assist this investigation, is asked to contact the Major Collision Inquiry Team on 101."

Users can also provide information using the LiveChat feature on the West Yorkshire Police website with reference number 13240081077.

Residents living nearby claimed the road was dangerous – with little police presence.

One sad user on social media said, “My thoughts are with this boy's family.

"I live near here and bad driving and breaking red lights are a daily occurrence. When will you patrol because we have never seen police patrolling."

Another said: "I travel that road regularly, it looks like the van was in the wrong lane. Horrible for anyone involved."
