Ted Cruz endorses Trump, calls for unified front against Biden's 'cultural Marxist' agenda

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz on Tuesday endorsed former President Trump for the 2024 GOP nomination.

Cruz, who battled Trump in the 2016 contests to become a staunch ally during his presidency, said the Iowa caucuses showed there is only one true candidate who is willing and viable to take on the left and the political establishment. Both are there.

"[Iowa] was an impressive victory for Donald Trump: I have to say, there's no place like the Iowa caucuses. I know this very well. The men and women of Iowa, they take their responsibility incredibly seriously. .They vet the candidates,'' Cruz said.

"It's a wonderful process, and I'm a big believer in letting democracy run. Well, last night it ran, and I got to say that Trump's victory was across the board... President Trump for that impressive victory. Congratulations to. And at this point, I believe this race is over."

He called on the GOP to come together to defeat President Biden and "the destructive, cultural Marxist agenda in the White House."

He said, "I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States. I look forward to enthusiastically supporting him."

Cruz said, after Iowa, there is no path to victory for any of the remaining candidates. He said the New Hampshire primary may be hotly contested, but it would inevitably be Trump's confidence after a potential victory in South Carolina.

Cruz has long been quiet about his favorite in the 2024 Republican primary, as Newsweek recently reported that he is also good friends with Trump rival Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida.

However, on Tuesday Cruz made it clear that he is fully behind Trump.

"I'm a big believer that we should let this process play out: it happened. And last night the result: 51% [of the vote, which included] 98 counties — it's compelling. And at this point, I think the contradiction The substance and the policy and should be on the record [vs. Biden],” he said.

Cruz said he is also a top senatorial election target for Democrats as he seeks a third term in the November election.

He will face the winner of a currently undecided Democratic field, which notably includes Colin Allred, Dallas County's congressional representative and retired Tennessee Titans linebacker.

“I wear it as a badge of honor,” he said of continuing to receive the ire and attention of Democrats as his re-election approaches.

"If you're a left-wing Democrat, after Donald Trump, there's no one in the country you want to defeat more than me. And Chuck Schumer has made it clear I'm his number one target in the country."

"Democrats are going to spend $100 million this year trying to defeat me and turn Texas blue. Now, that's not going to happen."
